Job summary

Renault Watford, part of Renault Retail Group, seeks an experienced Assistant Sales Manager to lead and develop the New and Used Car Sales Team. You will work with the General Sales Manager to sustain performance, profitability and a superior customer experience while ensuring finance compliance.

The role emphasizes coaching sales executives, achieving targets, and maintaining high standards across the dealership operation. A competitive base salary plus uncapped OTE and benefits are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sales Controller, Business Manager, or related roles in franchised automotive dealership.
• Proven track record in automotive retail sales with knowledge of finance and insurance products.
• Experience coaching Sales Executives and strong communication/relationship skills.
• Familiarity with CRM and dealership management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Sales Manager in delivering new and used vehicle sales targets, profitability objectives and manufacturer standards.
• Coach, develop and support the Sales Team to maximise customer engagement, conversion rates, product knowledge and process compliance.
• Monitor sales performance, activity levels, key performance indicators, forecasts, stock turn and sales pipeline activity.
• Structure vehicle deals and assist with complex sales transactions where required.
• Present and oversee finance, insurance and add-on products in a compliant and customer-focused manner.
• Work with finance providers and lenders to secure suitable funding solutions for customers.
• Support vehicle appraisals, stock acquisition, pricing strategies, preparation planning and stock management activity.
• Ensure leads, enquiries, appointments, follow-up activity and customer escalations are handled professionally and effectively.
• Maintain high standards of compliance, manufacturer process adherence and customer satisfaction.
• Lead the Sales operation in the General Sales Manager's absence.
