Job summary

Chalk Education is assisting a small independent school to recruit a Teaching Assistant specializing in autism. You will support SEND children in class, at lunch and break times, helping them develop skills in a safe, caring environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with autism, be comfortable with children and young people, and hold a willingness to adapt with a strong safeguarding mindset; an Enhanced DBS and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with Autism.
• Comfortable and confident working with children and young people.
• Caring, flexible attitude and willingness to adapt.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service.
• Commitment to safeguarding and eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support SEND children in a classroom, at lunch and break times.
• Assist with personal care while maintaining the pupil's dignity.
• Work closely with the class teacher to support activities and create a safe learning environment.
