Job summary

Five Education is seeking a caring In Class Support Assistant to help pupils in Martock, with a focus on supporting children with autism. The role suits someone patient, understanding and confident in assisting pupils with additional needs in the classroom.

You will provide 1:1 or small group support, help pupils engage with activities and routines, and encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour, under the guidance of teachers and support staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism (professional or personal).
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered.
• Willingness to provide two recent references and to obtain/maintain a DBS Update Service check.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism 1:1 or in small groups.
• Help pupils engage with learning activities and daily routines.
• Encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff.
