This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of young learners, working in a supportive, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

In this rewarding Autism Teaching Assistant role, you’ll work closely with children on the autism spectrum, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. You will help create a positive learning environment where students feel valued, confident, and motivated to learn. Your involvement will have a profound impact on their development—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with autism, helping them engage with lessons and activities.
  • Assist with the development of social, communication, and life skills, supporting students in their emotional and social growth.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes student well-being and success.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour strategies to help students manage challenges and build resilience.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children, with a strong commitment to their success.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and caring attitude, with the ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of each student.
  • Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Part-time applications are also welcome.

This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a dynamic team committed to providing the highest level of support to children with autism. You will be encouraged to develop your skills through continuous professional development, gaining valuable experience while making a difference in the lives of students.

If you’re looking for a fulfilling, impactful role where you can contribute to the development and success of children with autism, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and take the first step toward making a lasting impact in the lives of children in Leeds!
