Job description

We have an exciting position to start ASAP for a Learning Support Assistant – Post 16 – SEND. The position is to work full time in a specialist provision supporting young people with SEND. The role involves supporting them through work placements and helping develop skills to promote independence and functional skills.

The team

The team is a dynamic, supportive group with a person-centred approach to education. As a Career Support LSA, you will support students in work placements two days a week and in the classroom for the remaining three days.

The ideal candidate
  • Has experience working with adults with Autism and additional needs or young people with additional needs.
  • Is committed to supporting learners with SEND.
  • Has knowledge of Autism and other learning needs.
  • Possesses a degree, TA qualification, or equivalent.
The role
  • Supporting post 16 learners with additional needs.
  • Promoting literacy, numeracy, and employability skills.
  • Supporting pupils during work placements.
  • Working as part of a friendly, dynamic staff team.
  • Promoting a nurturing learning environment.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of pupils.

Safeguarding children is a core part of our work. We conduct checks on all candidates. A current Enhanced DBS Disclosure is required. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, a new DBS application may be necessary. Temporary roles are paid weekly.
