Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting an Autism Support Assistant for a specialist SEND setting in Heaton. You will work 1:1 with pupils on the Autism Spectrum, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

The role is full-time and long-term, with weekly PAYE pay and support from a local consultant. Training in SEND and autism is provided, with close collaboration with teachers to boost communication and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and autism.
• Background in care, youth work or teaching assistance is desirable.
• Interest in psychology and how children learn in classroom settings.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient with strong relationship skills.
• Ability to support communication and independence in learners.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and relevant training.

A specialist SEND setting in Heaton is looking for an Autism Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and associated communication needs.

The school is seeking someone patient, empathetic and resilient who can build strong relationships and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

Location: Heaton
Pay: £92.63 - £102 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
