About the role:

A supportive SEND school in Bingley is seeking a dedicated Autism Specialist to join their team full-time from September. The school provides tailored provision for children and young people with autism, focusing on communication, emotional regulation, and independence. Through structured routines, adapted teaching approaches, and a nurturing environment, the school helps pupils build confidence and engage positively with learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-requisites:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism in schools, care settings, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of autism and strategies that support communication, engagement, and sensory needs.
  • Confidence using structured approaches and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training, or equivalent experience.
