Job summary

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Perry Barr area. This is a full-time role, working five days per week, supporting pupils within a specialist SEND provision.

You will be working with Reception and Year 1 pupils, supporting a small group of children with a range of additional needs, primarily Autism (ASC). The provision currently has around seven pupils, although numbers may change as new pupils

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Understanding of ASC and how it presents within a school environment.
• Adaptable and flexible in approach.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Available to work full-time, five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, communication, social development, engagement and emotional needs.
• Assist in implementing learning activities and routines.
• Collaborate with Class Teacher and another SEND Teaching Assistant.
