Job summary

Orbis Education and Care in Pembroke Dock is seeking a Support Worker for Maes Y Coed. The role offers full-time and part-time day and waking night shifts delivering person-centred support to individuals with autism in their self-contained flat.

You will work autonomously on shift within a supportive team, following care plans, building trust with residents and families, and helping them maximise independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and caring nature with genuine desire to help.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience and patience to adapt to individual needs.
• Willingness to learn and follow team guidance, plus initiative.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication.
• Full UK driving licence is essential for transport to appointments.
• No experience required; passion, patience and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with autism.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care and meals.
• Encourage participation in community activities and hobbies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with individuals, families and stakeholders.
• Monitor and record progress and follow care plans.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and new skills.
• Promote a safe and nurturing environment for wellbeing.
