Job summary

MHA Gatwick is seeking an Audit Manager to join our people-first firm and deliver high-quality audits for a diverse client base. You’ll lead engagements, plan assignments, manage risks, and build strong client relationships while guiding junior staff.

You’ll bring ACA/ACCA credentials, up-to-date auditing standards knowledge, and a proactive mindset to identify improvements and efficiencies. The role offers agile working and a supportive development culture.

Qualifications

• Up to date technical knowledge of Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards.
• Technically competent and compliant and gives due consideration to risk.
• Able to produce realistic projections and comment on draft projections versus historic accounts.
• Generates ideas for clients and for the firm, striving for improvements and efficiencies.
• Can undertake internal projects, communicate findings and see through to completion.
• Builds effective relationships internally across departments and externally.

Responsibilities

• Plan, control and review client work to ensure that the jobs are completed efficiently and effectively by allocating resources.
• Hold pre-audit meetings with clients to establish events affecting the business and areas needing attention.
• Prepare a time budget for each assignment to ensure profitability.
• Ensure a detailed audit or accounts planning memorandum is prepared by the senior.
• Ensure trainees are allocated a variety of jobs to maximise their training.
• Complete 6 monthly appraisals and sign off training records for all allocated staff.
• Complete staff review forms after each job and provide feedback for improvement.
• Deal with day-to-day staff issues including holidays, courses, conflicts, and hours.
