Job summary

Maidstone-based MHA is seeking an Audit Executive to join a dynamic team, blending office and home working in a hybrid model. The role focuses on client relationships, risk understanding, and delivering insights beyond numbers.

Ideal candidates will be ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified, with PQE or newly qualified status, and familiarity with financial software. A proactive, commercially minded approach is valued in this UK-based practice.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified with experience in practice.
• Newly qualified or 1 year of post qualified experience required.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and accounting/tax software.

Responsibilities

• Deal with correspondence from clients.
• Agree timing of work/scheduling with clients.
• Regularly review and give feedback on work.
• Manage own portfolio of clients (where appropriate).
• Ensure the planning memorandum is produced, identify risk areas and most efficient method of gathering audit evidence.
• Produce draft budget if required.
• Delegate, supervise and review work of seniors and juniors, ensuring the file is complete and all review points addressed before it is passed to the Partner or Manager.
• Monitor work in progress on all jobs within the portfolio, communicating any potential problems and write offs to the Partners or Managers on a timely basis.
• Undertake critical audit areas (in a few key jobs where appropriate).
• Excluding audits, be aware of other MHA services and products which may be appropriate to the clients.
• Monitor filing deadlines and ensure deadlines are achieved, including corporation tax and Companies House filings.
