Job summary

Sumer is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager in Solihull to lead audit assignments from planning through delivery, coordinating with clients and senior staff. You will mentor junior team members, monitor budgets, and oversee billing to keep engagements on track.

The role requires ACCA or equivalent qualifications, solid regulatory knowledge, and experience with IFRS/FRS. Familiarity with CCH Inflo is advantageous; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with audit and accounts experience.
• Solid understanding of quality and regulatory standards in audit.
• Familiar with risk awareness and effective control measures.
• Strong client relationships and mentoring abilities.
• Up to date with IFRS and FRS standards.
• Experience with auditing systems CCH & Inflo is beneficial, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit assignments, ensuring timely completion and compliance with firm standards.
• Act as primary client contact during engagements, handling queries and communications.
• Supervise junior team members, review work and provide constructive feedback.
• Lead budgeting, monitor progress, and address variances for efficiency.
• Oversee billing activities by tracking time and resources within budget.
• Ensure compliance with auditing and accounting standards throughout engagements.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment and address personnel matters as they arise.
• Coordinate with Directors to align with department objectives and service delivery.
• Perform ad hoc tasks to facilitate efficient project flow.
