Job summary

Sumer Group Holdings Limited is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager in Solihull to lead audits from planning through delivery, coordinating with clients and management. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and ensuring high-quality work across assignments.

You will supervise engagements, manage budgets, timelines, and billing while ensuring compliance with FRS/IFRS and internal standards. Collaboration with Directors and the Audit team is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
• Experience in audit and accounts, with knowledge of quality and regulatory standards
• Familiar with risk awareness and control measures in audits
• Strong client relationship skills and ability to manage expectations
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues and provide feedback

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit assignments from planning to completion
• Act as primary client contact during engagements and maintain clear communication
• Supervise junior team members and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare budgets, monitor progress and address variances for efficiency
• Oversee billing activities by tracking time and resources within budget
• Ensure compliance with auditing and accounting standards (FRS/IFRS)
• Collaborate with Directors to align with department goals and service delivery
• Perform administrative tasks to support project flow
