Job summary

Forvis Mazars UK is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to lead multiple mid-market audit engagements from planning through completion. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with UK GAAP/IFRS and Companies Act requirements.

You will work with a diverse client base, develop strong professional relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement and firm growth in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/CA/ACCA qualification required.
• Experience in external audit, ideally Mid-Market/SMEs.
• Ability to lead audit assignments from planning to completion.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and Companies Act.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit Delivery – lead and manage audits from planning to completion.
• Plan and scope audits with effective resource management.
• Apply UK GAAP/IFRS and regulatory knowledge to audits.
• Draft key outputs and review with Managers/Partners.
• Supervise and coach junior team members during fieldwork.
• Provide guidance and informal training to the team.
• Ensure quality and risk management are followed.
• Act as day-to-day client contact and build relationships.
• Monitor budgets and assist with billing.
• Collaborate with other service lines on firm initiatives.
