Job summary

Boston Spa Academy, part of The GORSE Academies Trust, is seeking an Attendance and Welfare Officer to join the pastoral team. The role focuses on promoting attendance, monitoring data, and removing barriers to ensure every student can reach their potential.

The successful candidate will work with students, families and external agencies, conducting home visits as needed and driving proactive attendance strategies across the academy.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence required.
• Experience supporting young people in a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families and external agencies.
• Strong understanding of attendance processes and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to analyse attendance data and inform targeted interventions.
• Passion and resilience to improve outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve student attendance and punctuality.
• Collaborate with families, pastoral leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance.
• Conduct home visits where required and build positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Support intervention strategies and track progress to improve outcomes.
