Job summary

Boston Spa Academy is seeking an Attendance and Welfare Officer to join the pastoral team. The role focuses on raising attendance and punctuality, monitoring data, and shaping intervention plans while visiting homes when needed.

The post is term time only, 37 hours per week plus one extra week. Applicants should have experience supporting young people in a secondary school and hold Enhanced DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people and supporting them to overcome barriers to success.

Responsibilities

• Promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the academy.
• Work with students, families, pastoral leaders and external agencies to identify and remove barriers to attendance.
• Monitor attendance data.
• Support intervention strategies to improve attendance.
• Conduct home visits where required.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers to improve outcomes for young people.
