Job summary

Boston Spa Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated Attendance and Welfare Officer to join our pastoral team. This role focuses on promoting excellent attendance and punctuality, ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

You will work with students, families, pastoral leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance. You will monitor attendance data, support intervention strategies, conduct home visits where required and build positive

Qualifications

• A full clean driving licence is required.
• Experience of working with young people, ideally in a secondary school.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of attendance processes and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to analyse attendance data to inform interventions.
• Passion, drive and resilience to improve student outcomes.

This is a key role within the academy, focused onpromoting excellent attendance and punctuality, ensuring that every student hasthe opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will workclosely with students, families, pastoral leaders and external agencies toidentify and remove barriers to attendance. They will monitor attendance data,support intervention strategies, conduct home visits where required and buildpositive relationships with parents and carers to improve outcomes for youngpeople. The role demands a proactive and compassionate individual who iscommitted to making a difference in the lives of students and ensuring highlevels of attendance across the academy.

The idea candidate will have:

• Afull clean driving license.
• Experienceof working with young people and supporting them to overcome barriers tosuccess, ideally within a secondary school environment.
