Job summary

The Arthur Terry School is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our committed pastoral team. This role is central to supporting student success and wellbeing by promoting excellent attendance and high engagement across all year groups.

You will work with students, families and external agencies, monitor attendance data, and report findings to leaders. The post requires safeguarding commitment, confidentiality, and the ability to respond to barriers to attendance with proactive,

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, education, or customer-focused environment.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence using management information systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
• A proactive and resilient approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Promote excellent attendance and educational outcomes through proactive engagement.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and external agencies to support attendance.
• Monitor, analyse and report on attendance data accurately.
• Identify and address barriers to attendance and support students to overcome them.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Collaborate with pastoral, safeguarding and leadership teams to support student success.
