Job summary

The Colne Community School, part of The Sigma Trust, is seeking an Assistant Attendance Officer and Internal Reflection Room Supervisor to join the Pastoral and Attendance teams in Colchester. The role is 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, with duties spanning attendance, student welfare and behaviour support.

The ideal candidate will have GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) and the ability to maintain composure under pressure while promoting a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Understanding of and ability to implement the school's behaviour management policy.
• Remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with composure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student absence patterns.
• Issue all absence notifications to parents/carers and monitor responses.
• Mentor students to reflect on behaviour.
• Communicate work set by teachers to students and answer questions about processes.
