Job summary

The Colne Community School, part of The Sigma Trust, seeks an Assistant Attendance Officer and Internal Reflection Room Supervisor in Tendring. You will work within the Pastoral and Attendance teams to support students and families, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment and proactive attendance monitoring.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade A-C or equivalent.
• Understanding and ability to implement the school's behaviour policy.
• Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure.

• Monitor student absence patterns and report findings.
• Issue absence notifications to parents/carers and track responses.
• Mentor students to reflect on their behaviour.
• Communicate teacher-set work to students and answer process questions.

This role is 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time plus one day during the school closure periods) The working pattern for this role is Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:00pm and Fridays 08:00am to 15:30pm. A Day in the Life: You'll be responsible for bringing your passion and expertise to the following areas:

• Monitor student absence patterns.
• Issue all absence notifications to parents/carers and monitor and record responses.
• To mentor students so they reflect on their behaviour.
• Communicate work set by the teacher to the students, responding to any questions from them about process and procedures.
