Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic School in Salisbury seeks an Attendance Officer to support pupils, families and staff in achieving excellent attendance across the school. You will monitor attendance, identify concerns early and coordinate interventions with the Pastoral Team to remove barriers to regular attendance and improve outcomes for learners.

Working closely with parents, carers and school colleagues, you will lead data reviews, produce reports and participate in attendance meetings, safeguarding

• Knowledge of attendance procedures, safeguarding and pupil welfare (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day attendance processes including first day calling and absence recording.
• Communicate with parents regarding attendance concerns.
• Monitor attendance data and identify pupils or groups of concern.
• Produce attendance reports and support early intervention strategies.
• Lead School Attendance Meetings and liaise with external agencies as required.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and staff to improve attendance.
• Maintain records on SIMS, CPOMS and ClassCharts.
• Support safeguarding and pupil welfare by reporting attendance-related concerns.
• Promote a culture of attendance and train staff on procedures.
