Job summary

Millthorpe School in York is seeking a committed Attendance Officer to monitor attendance and help ensure every student has the best opportunity to succeed. You will work closely with students, families and colleagues to drive improvements in attendance and punctuality.

You will maintain accurate records, engage with safeguarding teams and academy leaders, and conduct home visits where required while upholding high standards of professionalism and care.

Working closely with students, families and colleagues, you will help drive improvements in attendance and punctuality, supporting our school's ambition to achieve the highest standards for every child.

As Attendance Officer, you will monitor attendance patterns, investigate persistent absence, engage with families, conduct home visits where required and maintain accurate records and reporting systems. You will work collaboratively with academy leaders, pastoral teams and safeguarding colleagues to ensure that attendance concerns are identified and addressed swiftly and effectively.

We are looking for someone who combines excellent administrative skills with strong interpersonal abilities. You will be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, able to manage competing priorities and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism, safeguarding and care.
