Job summary

Opus People Solutions Limited seeks an Attendance Mentor for Walsall Council on a temporary basis. The role combines office work in Walsall Town Centre with school visits to monitor and improve pupil attendance.

You will analyse attendance data, liaise with schools and families, and support attendance improvement plans while maintaining accurate records. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is essential.
• Knowledge of school attendance processes and data.
• Experience supporting attendance improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient IT skills: MS 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, monitor and analyse attendance data.
• Collaborate with schools, pupils, parents/carers and professionals to address attendance concerns.
• Support and review attendance improvement plans.
• Attend meetings and liaise with partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes.
• Promote positive attendance and early intervention.
• Challenge inappropriate use of reduced timetables.
