Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to work on-site at Woodlands Primary School, Sheffield. You will deliver casework to promote educational outcomes for children and their families, focusing on attendance, punctuality, and engagement in learning.

You will build excellent relationships with school staff, families, and carers, and you will be responsible for safeguarding and working with diverse communities to support children’s welfare in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Experience in education or similar setting to improve attendance and engagement
• Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals
• Understanding factors affecting a child’s ability to learn
• Experience with families from diverse communities
• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and their families
• Support attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning
• Work in close partnership with school staff to implement support plans
• Speak with a wide range of people with clear and respectful communication
