Job summary

West Grantham Church of England Secondary Academy is seeking an Attendance and Family Liaison Officer to lead improvements in attendance and punctuality. The role combines strategic oversight, data analysis and direct engagement with students, families and external agencies.

You will identify barriers to attendance, build trusted relationships with families, and coordinate support with internal teams. The post also includes Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in education, health or social care.
• Knowledge of legislation relating to school attendance.
• Ability to analyse information, write clear reports and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to improve attendance and punctuality across the academy.
• Analyse attendance information, identify patterns and recommend interventions.
• Work with students and families to address barriers to attendance.
• Build partnerships with external agencies and the wider community for student support.
• Arrange daily cover for absent staff and coordinate with supply agencies (7.30 am start).
• Collaborate with pastoral and SEND teams to improve attendance outcomes.
• Undertake duties as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
