Job summary

Spencer Academies Trust is seeking an Attendance Coordinator and Intervention Lead to join the inclusion team at George Spencer Academy, Nottingham. You will monitor attendance and punctuality, respond to absences, visit families and work with partner schools and agencies to remove barriers to participation.

You will be highly organised, able to act quickly in a fast-paced environment, and maintain accurate records while supporting safeguarding and pupil welfare across the Trust.

Job description

We are looking to appoint an Attendance Coordinator and Intervention Lead. The successful candidate will be part of the wider inclusion team working together to improve pupil attendance. Working with families, partner schools, professionals and agencies will be integral to removing barriers to attendance and offering practical interventions.

The right candidate needs to be highly organised with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, supporting the vision, aims and ethos of the school. The candidate will possess an excellent telephone manner, be professional and be able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative.

This is a key safeguarding and pupil-support role. The Attendance Coordinator will monitor attendance and punctuality, respond to absence, carry out home visits, build constructive relationships with parents and carers, lead Early Help and multi-agency work where required and maintain accurate records. The postholder will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment in which learners are supported to return to and remain engaged with education.
