Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an Attendance Officer for a primary school in Slough, Berkshire. The role focuses on monitoring pupil attendance, maintaining accurate records and supporting families to ensure regular school attendance.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders to identify attendance concerns and implement improvement plans while ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred.
• Strong administrative and record-keeping skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and school MIS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily pupil attendance and follow up unexplained absences.
• Maintain accurate attendance records on the school information system.
• Contact parents regarding absence, lateness and attendance concerns.
• Identify patterns of absence and raise concerns with senior leaders.
• Support attendance interventions and action plans.
• Prepare attendance reports and data for meetings.
• Maintain confidential records of communications and interventions.
