Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Milton Keynes is seeking an Attendance Improvement Leader to join its Attendance Team from November. The role focuses on promoting regular attendance, identifying barriers and supporting pupils and families to improve punctuality.

You will work with the Attendance Improvement Manager and two Attendance Support Officers to develop attendance strategies, engage with pupils, and build positive relationships with parents, contributing to a welcoming school culture.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Attendance Improvement Manager in implementing attendance strategies and initiatives.
• Monitoring attendance and working with teaching and support staff to identify concerns and barriers.
• Engaging directly with pupils to understand and address attendance challenges.
• Building positive relationships with parents and families to encourage regular attendance and punctuality.
• Supporting vulnerable learners and helping remove barriers that may prevent them from attending school.
• Contributing to attendance campaigns and initiatives across the Academy.
• Promoting a welcoming, inclusive environment where good attendance is valued.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for students.
