Job summary

Croydon Secondary School is seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis from October 2026. You will lead attendance monitoring, promote punctuality and work with students, families and external agencies to support progress.

Working closely with senior leaders, the successful candidate will maintain accurate attendance records using the MIS, produce regular reports, and help identify trends to improve attendance across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance, pastoral support or school administration.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Experience with school MIS systems is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance and follow up on unexplained absences.
• Identify attendance trends and prepare reports for leaders.
• Collaborate with families and external agencies to improve attendance.
• Maintain accurate attendance records in the MIS.
• Support attendance meetings and ensure procedures comply with guidance.
