Job summary

The Oldham Academy North is seeking an Attendance Officer to promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the academy. You will work with students, families, staff and external agencies to ensure attendance procedures are implemented effectively and that every student is supported to achieve their full potential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Experience of attendance management within a school environment.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with experience using school information systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and handle sensitive information with discretion

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate attendance and punctuality records, ensuring data is complete and up to date.
• Manage first-day absence procedures and follow up on unexplained or unauthorised absences.
• Produce and analyse attendance reports to support academy improvement and intervention strategies.
• Work closely with students, parents/carers, staff and external agencies to promote positive attendance.
• Support attendance initiatives, home visits and safeguarding procedures in line with academy policies
