Job summary

Christ Church Barnet is seeking a Spirit-filled Associate Vicar to share in preaching, pastoral care and leadership alongside the Vicar, staff team and wider church leadership in North London.

The role offers potential to tailor ministry to your gifts and experience as the church develops in the next season, with housing provided and a diocesan stipend scale applied.

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility for preaching, worship, pastoral care, congregational visiting, volunteer development and church leadership.
• Contribute to Steering Group, staff team, PCC and Buildings & Business Team, and provide continuity when the Vicar is away.
• Take delegated leadership responsibility for ministry areas as agreed by gifts and experience.
• Engage in evangelism and mission, Alpha and community outreach.
• Oversee discipleship and pastoral care, Connect Groups, Kids & Families and Youth.
• Provide training and equipping and support mission partnerships and safeguarding.

We are looking for a Spirit-filled, energetic and outward-looking Associate Vicar to join us at an exciting time in the life of our church. Christ Church Barnet is a growing charismatic evangelical Anglican church in North London, with a passion to see the transformation of Barnet and beyond, with the love of Jesus, one life at a time.

We are looking for someone who will share the load of leading, preaching and pastoring, working closely with our Vicar, staff team and wider church leadership. There is also genuine opportunity to shape the role around your gifts and experience as we develop our ministry for the next season.

The role

• Alongside the Vicar, you will share responsibility for preaching, worship, pastoral care, congregational visiting, volunteer development and church leadership.
