The role connects material characterization, manufacturing science, and data-driven insight.

It supports new product introduction, lifecycle management, and regulatory submissions within the AZ network, requiring strong leadership and digital capabilities.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of material science in pharma and its link to product quality.
• Experience with material characterisation and trace analysis (e.g., PSD, imaging, TGA).
• Significant hands-on pharma industry experience with credibility.
• Knowledge of drug development and lifecycle management.
• Digital-first approach to streamline processes and compliance.
• Understanding of SHE and cGMP principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead material science knowledge across the product lifecycle to enable innovative manufacturing platforms.
• Enhance Product Digital Intelligence by connecting material knowledge with control strategy lifecycle management.
• Apply material science to identify risks earlier and improve issue-resolution speed.
• Build future-ready material science capability through mentoring and digital upskilling.
• Provide external insight on material-related regulations and trends.
