Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Pavement Engineer to join the Pavement Engineering team in delivering large-scale pavement projects for UK and international clients. The role involves technical delivery, project management, and client facing duties from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

You will lead a team of engineers, ensure quality and safety compliance, and contribute to business development through strong client relationships and proposal support.

Qualifications

• Experience in pavement design and maintenance
• Knowledge of road and airfield pavement engineering projects
• Familiar with pavement design methodologies and contract documentation (MCHW/DMRB)
• Ability to coordinate across engineering disciplines and support groups
• Experience with pavement investigations for maintenance design and failure analysis
• Understanding of materials behavior in pavement structures
• Knowledge of road operation, maintenance and renewal practices
• Experience in preparing proposals and client communications

Responsibilities

• Deliver pavement projects including investigation reports, design work and site supervision
• Lead the technical delivery of pavement schemes from inception to handover
• Manage fieldwork withHealth and safety compliance and commercial considerations
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers
• Develop client relationships and manage expectations on projects
• Support in developing lifecycle asset management plans
