Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited seeks a Principal Pavement Engineer to join our growing pavement consultancy team. You will lead design and research projects for highways, airfields and ports, delivering high‑quality reports and package designs for diverse clients.

You'll direct project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients to drive innovative, sustainable pavement solutions while upholding safety and value for money across the UK portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• Certified Pavement Engineer preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid, Composite).
• Experience with UK/international standards for pavement design.
• Experience leading projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead pavement design and research projects.
• Deliver technical reports and design packages.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
• Mentor and develop team members.
