Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom is seeking an Associate Technical Director to lead a pavement consultancy team. You will oversee design and research projects for highways, airfields, ports and industrial pavements, delivering safe, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

The role requires proven technical leadership, deep knowledge of pavement principles and materials, and experience with standards and geotechnical methods. A strong client-facing capability is essential.

Qualifications

Proven technical leadership within pavement engineering.
Knowledge of pavement design principles (flexible, rigid, composite).
Experience with earthworks and pavement materials (concrete, asphalt).
Experience with UK/international standards for pavement design.
Experience in geotechnical/pavement investigations and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Leading a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in pavement engineering.
Ensuring deliverables are on time, within budget and high quality.
Enhancing client and industry relationships with stakeholders.
Promoting pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis.
Coaching and mentoring to develop team members' technical careers.
Championing processes and policies, and safety/environmental compliance.
