Job description

Associate Information & Cyber Security Consultant (6 month FTC)
Summary
About the role

Coventry Building Society has a new position within the Cyber team in CIDO for an Associate Information & Cyber Security Consultant.

This role is suited for a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Level Cyber Security Consultant to support Senior Consultants within the Cyber Security Practice. As we expand our use of cloud technologies and digital transformation initiatives, this Junior role offers a dynamic opportunity to grow expertise in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Working in a product-based agile model, the role involves advising on security controls and policies for business initiatives, addressing risks, and implementing operational controls and processes where appropriate. It requires collaboration and pragmatism when supporting fast-paced delivery teams, not solely relying on having a security background.

About you

We seek someone eager to learn and contribute to our digital transformation journey, working with established cloud technologies.

To succeed, you should demonstrate:

  • An understanding of cloud security principles (AWS preferred, Azure favorable) and an interest in compliance, security standards, and privacy.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts like firewalls, DLP, endpoint protection, and risk management.
  • A basic understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles related to cloud security.
  • A passion for security architecture discussions and solution deployment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance such as GDPR, FCA, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Willingness to assist in risk assessments and security assurance reports for technological and process-driven elements.

Desirable skills include:

  • Motivation to achieve recognized cybersecurity certifications.
  • Proactivity in developing communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
