Associate Director – People Support & Care (HR)

A global leader in the biotechnology sector is seeking an Associate Director of People Support & Care (PS&C) to manage a team dedicated to fostering a positive company culture and employment experience. This role will provide expert guidance on employee relations, policies, and performance matters across the European region, ensuring compliance with employment laws while driving HR operational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic HR professional to partner with leadership teams, develop scalable HR services, and drive continuous improvement across multiple jurisdictions. The role will also focus on data-driven decision-making, enhancing HR systems, and leading organisational change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop a team of HR professionals, overseeing employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation across Europe.
  2. Partner with senior HR leadership and business leaders to align HR services with business needs, driving collaboration and consistency.
  3. Implement and scale HR shared services delivery models, ensuring compliance with European employment laws and best practices.
  4. Oversee and manage organisational change initiatives, including restructures and workforce planning, ensuring a smooth transition.
  5. Develop and analyse HR data, providing insights to influence strategy and enhance employee experience.
  6. Drive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, supporting company-wide programmes and fostering an inclusive workplace.
  7. Manage complex employee relations cases, offering expert advice and ensuring legal compliance.
  8. Lead HR-related audits, ensuring processes align with internal and external regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: Extensive international HR experience, with a strong background in employee relations, change management, and compliance. Experience managing and developing HR teams is essential.
  3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of European employment laws, HR policy development, and compliance frameworks. Experience with country workers councils is highly desirable.
  4. Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict resolution abilities. Proven expertise in project management, data analysis, and HRIS systems (Workday experience is a plus).
