Job Opportunity: Associate Director (Fire Engineer) at AECOM

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director (Fire Engineer) based in our London office. This consultancy role requires demonstrable experience across various sectors and technical fire engineering applications within a client-focused environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a team of fire engineers, overseeing workload, project delivery, and performance.
• Ensuring successful project delivery within the Middle East region, meeting regulatory and client expectations.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards.
• Leading performance reviews, setting SMART goals, and participating in staff development and mentoring.
• Providing technical input on studies and design projects, supporting staff on the path to Chartership.

Qualifications:

• Experience working on Middle East projects with knowledge of local standards such as NFPA, IBC, IFC, UAE Fire Code, etc.
• Proficiency in fire engineering tools like FDS, SFS, and evacuation modelling software.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies, e.g., MI Fire, NFPA certifications.

Preferred:

• UK or other nationalities, security clearance, Chartered Engineer status, MSc or PhD in fire-related discipline, international standards experience.
