At Pick Everard, we’re dedicated to protecting lives, property, and the environment through intelligent fire engineering solutions. We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Director - Fire Engineering to support the design, development, and implementation of fire safety strategies across diverse projects.

This role involves leading the development of a new Fire Engineering Team, building in-house capabilities to deliver best practices, and collaborating across disciplines to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Embed fire safety into design processes to protect lives, assets, and the environment.
  • Work with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities to deliver compliant fire engineering solutions.
  • Stay updated on fire codes, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Develop fire safety strategies aligned with standards like NFPA, BS 9999, and IBC.
  • Perform fire risk assessments, egress and smoke control studies, and fire modeling (FDS, PyroSim, Pathfinder).
  • Support fire design integration with disciplines such as MEP, structural, and architectural.
  • Participate in site inspections and evaluations of fire protection systems.
About You
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety codes (NFPA, BS, IBC) and standards.
  • Experience with fire modeling software (PyroSim, FDS, Pathfinder).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent registration.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience liaising with clients and building rapport within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and accountability for work.
  • Experience in report writing, client interaction, and work-winning.
  • Ability to lead a sub-team focused on high-quality design delivery.
