As Associate Director of our fire engineering and consultancy team, you will act as the Service specialist, developing the team and Service offerings to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality fire safety advice.

Within role, you will be expected to lead delivery, development and growth of Fire Engineering and Consultancy Services, which includes the provision of fire strategies, fire engineering studies, PAS9980 FRAEW assessments and developing training packages and inputs.

Acting as a leader, you will uphold, encourage and ensure the company culture and behaviours are always displayed and adhered to within the Team and promote these across other teams.

The role is pivotal to the development of fire engineers and consultants, whilst ensuring the delivery of a professional, exceptional and technically competent service to clients.

And as a Associate Director with Oakleaf, you’ll do it by

  • Working with the Head of Fire Consultancy to oversee the delivery of fire consultancy and engineering services, maintaining a high performing service and providing direction and support to Principle Consultants / Engineers.
  • Support sustainable Service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base.
  • Create, Develop and Improve reporting templates, survey methodologies and project management tasks.
  • Determine resource requirements, ensure scheduling of workforce and reporting on performance, risks and opportunities to Divisional Leadership Team.
  • Attend and contribute to the development through contribution and delivery of content at Fire Division CPD events.
  • Support development of colleagues, where appropriate, so they have the skills and motivation to undertake their roles.

  • Good negotiation skills based on technical, commercial, and financial acumen.
  • Passion and enthusiasm to succeed.
  • Registered as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council, through the IFE; or clearly demonstrate sufficient progress in the application process.
  • Hold a Masters degree or level 6 equivalent (fire safety related)
  • Have MiFireE level and other key fire and structural professional memberships
  • Sound knowledge of Fire Consultancy services (fire safety strategies, fire engineering etc) with a minimum of 10-years experience.

Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from home Monday to Friday 8:30 am top 5:00 pm with an hour for lunch break)
