Job summary

Teneo is seeking an Associate Director in Financial Advisory. You will work with a seasoned team advising boards and lenders on underperforming or financially stressed companies. You will lead workstreams, manage junior staff, and support Directors in client-facing delivery across sectors.

You will build client relationships, develop technical expertise, and contribute to business development while overseeing complex engagements, including restructuring and cash management initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA or equivalent; time and exam qualified.
• Experience in Financial Advisory within professional services, consultancy or investment bank; knowledge of debt markets and loan agreements.
• Understanding of financial statements and ability to assess historical performance and future outlook for clients.
• Knowledge of Financial Advisory marketplace trends and key players.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engagement letters and ensure compliance.
• Support Managing Director/Director in managing external stakeholders and engagement parts.
• Assist management with business plans, cash flow forecasts and Financial Advisory plans.
• Provide financial restructuring and cash management services to improve working capital.
• Stress-test business plans, budgeting and forecasting models; define KPIs and automate reporting.
• Develop or enhance finance functions and processes within client companies.
• Present Financial Advisory options with inputs from insolvency or tax analysis; liaise on legal documentation.
• Manage complex insolvency cases and multi-jurisdictional asset recovery actions.
• Apply understanding of engagement economics and risk management.
• Lead cross-functional teams and develop junior staff; coach and mentor.
