The Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in a cross-functional environment with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales teams to drive technical integrations with clients. They partner with publishers to understand their advertising strategies, technical implementation, and provide solutions utilizing PubMatic's ad-decisioning and workflow APIs. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, analytical, and possesses a blend of technical and business acumen. They should have a consulting mindset, be skilled in writing APIs, building operational tools, analyzing data for optimization, and committed to customer satisfaction. This role involves rallying internal resources to achieve customer success and leading initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to identify business goals, opportunities, and client objectives, ensuring optimal implementation of the PubMatic platform.
• Partner with publishers to implement and deploy PubMatic header bidding solutions - OpenWrap and Prebid.
• Support pre-sales efforts by delivering technical demonstrations and supporting sales pitches for RFI and RFP responses.
• Work with engineering and product teams to develop custom solutions and resolve issues during the sales cycle. Provide feedback to influence the product roadmap.
• Offer subject matter expertise to account teams and customers regarding best practices and capabilities to ensure balanced revenue strategies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a technical consulting role, preferably in the AdTech ecosystem, with a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics).
• Experience with Prebid and Header Bidding implementations.
• Understanding of ORTB protocols, first/third-party data, GDPR, CCPA, and consent management.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
• Quantitative skills in SQL, Excel, R, or Python for data analysis and insights.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with resilience in dealing with ambiguity.
• Experience managing complex projects from client setup to custom solution evaluation.
• Strong consultative sales skills, personable, solutions-oriented, and creative.
• Knowledge of ad serving technologies and ad servers like DFP, FreeWheel, LKQD, SpotX, etc., digital campaign management, tagging, reporting, video players, SDKs, RESTful APIs, and IAB standards like VAST and openRTB is a plus.
