The Vacancy

Travis Baker, an RSK Group company, is recruiting an Associate Civil Engineer to join the team based in Nottingham, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Since its establishment in 2006, Travis Baker has provided high-quality professional consulting engineering services across the UK. Due to growth and increased project demand, we are expanding our Nottingham office with an Associate Engineer to support and develop the existing team.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of design deliverables: drawings in AutoCAD, hand-drawn sketches, specification documents, and third-party agreement information (e.g., S38, S278, S104, S184, S106, S98 agreements).
• Production of calculations related to drainage and highways using hand and computer-aided design software.
• Providing technical oversight and support to the engineering team in earthworks, drainage, and highway projects.
• Conducting site visits for inspections and defect reports.
• Understanding earthwork and ground stabilization specifications and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Professional membership with ICE, IStructE, or similar.
• 10+ years postgraduate experience, ideally in design consultancy for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Willingness to spend time on-site and occasional overnight stays.
• Full UK driving license preferred.
