Our Opportunity

Are you an experienced, motivated Principal Civil Engineer with ambitions of progression and a drive to achieve success?

Do you want to work within a collaborative, dynamic environment, with a team of highly skilled and like-minded Engineers?

Are you looking to lead and shape an Infrastructure team, as part of a leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy?

We are looking to expand our senior management team and appoint an Infrastructure and Highways Associate Civil Engineer to work across a variety of projects within our team in Leicester, Sheffield, or Manchester.

Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for leading major projects across sectors including residential, custodial, leisure, defence, education, healthcare, and heritage. Discover our projects – Pick Everard

You can expect to become involved in:

  1. Managing a large variety of projects in terms of size, type, and complexity
  2. Supervising a team of engineers and technicians to ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, on time, and within budget

Your core duties will include:

  1. Working to achieve the disciplines’ planned targets through excellent service delivery to our clients.
  2. Liaising directly with clients and supporting business development activities such as bidding, fee tendering, and client interviews, along with team development and training.
  3. Managing programming, planning, staff resources, monitoring team utilization, and overseeing designs and reports.

About You

The successful candidate will have significant, proven experience, and be passionate about civil engineering.

Minimum Requirements:
  • The ability to lead a team, be forward-thinking, proactive, and positive, with an understanding of our key objectives and how to deliver them efficiently.
  • Experience liaising with clients and managing schemes, as well as working on bespoke projects that require practical application of your experience.
  • Previous experience writing and presenting reports, along with client interaction and work winning.
  • Good knowledge of industry design software packages such as Site 3D, Infraworks, Civils 3D.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through writing and presenting.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • An ability to build good rapport with other parts of our inter-disciplinary practice, while quickly understanding our values, culture, and business goals.
  • CEng or IEng status.
  • Experience with various types of contracts.
