Job description

Travis Baker, an RSK Group company, is recruiting for an Associate Civil Engineer to join the team based in Nottingham, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Travis Baker was established in 2006 to provide high-quality services as professional consulting engineers. Since then, the company has grown strongly and now offers a full range of integrated engineering services throughout the UK.

Due to continued success and increasing project demand, we are looking to expand our Nottingham office with an Associate Engineer to support and grow the existing team.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of design deliverables:
   1. Drawings in AutoCAD
   2. Hand-drawn sketches – as appropriate to design stage
   3. Specification Documents
   4. 3rd Party Agreement Information – requirements of the statutory authority, including but not limited to S38, S278, S104, S184, S106, S98 agreements.
2. Production of calculations related to drainage and highways, both by hand and computer-aided design software.
3. Providing technical oversight and support to the engineering team delivering civil engineering outputs in earthworks, drainage, and highway works.
4. Site visits for inspections and defect reports.
5. Understanding earthwork and ground stabilization specifications and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering (preferred)
2. Professional membership with ICE, IStructE, or similar
3. 10+ years of postgraduate experience, preferably in design consultancy for residential, commercial, or industrial projects
4. Willingness to spend time on site and occasional stays away from home
5. Full UK driving license preferred
