About the Role:

Our growing Environmental Team seeks an experienced professional with extensive experience in the Energy and Renewables sector. The role involves managing environmental compliance and sustainability efforts related to Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for renewable energy projects such as wind and solar. A strong understanding of environmental regulations, coordination across teams, and expertise in environmental assessments are essential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop client relationships with the Sector Director for Energy
  • Engage in business development to secure new opportunities
  • Manage a team of EIA practitioners in project delivery
  • Lead coordination, preparation, and submission of DCOs and related applications for renewable energy projects
  • Collaborate with project managers, legal teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
  • Monitor application progress and liaise with government authorities
  • Ensure projects meet environmental standards and regulations
  • Prepare environmental reports and assessments
  • Work with internal teams and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices
  • Support company sustainability goals by reducing environmental impacts
  • Stay informed on emerging environmental policies and renewable technologies

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or similar
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IEMA)
  • Chartered status (Environmentalist or Scientist) preferred

Experience:

  • Proven experience with DCOs and navigating regulatory frameworks in energy or infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with government agencies, local authorities, and community engagement (preferred)

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Collaborative approach and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead and work well within a team
  • Full UK driver's license
  • Experience with supply chain partnerships and environmental procurement (preferred)
