We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Asset Manager (Team Lead) to join our growing Property and Asset Management team, based in either our Leeds or Birmingham office. Working with a diverse portfolio of infrastructure clients across the UK, you will play a key role in leading a team of Asset Managers responsible for managing residential assets and delivering an exceptional service to our clients. The role will have a particular focus on the management of vacant residential properties, ensuring assets are brought into a safe, compliant and lettable condition. You will work closely with colleagues across Property Management, Facilities Management and our regional teams, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to drive the best outcomes.
- Take overall responsibility for the management of vacant residential assets, driving progress to bring properties back into a lettable condition efficiently and cost‑effectively.
- Monitor team performance against client KPIs and service level agreements, ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved.
- Oversee the acquisition and onboarding of new properties into the portfolio, ensuring a seamless transition and effective management from day one.
- Work closely with the Facilities Management team to ensure all compliance requirements and property checks are completed.
- Manage improvement, repair and maintenance works, including coordinating contractors, arranging access and monitoring works through to completion.
- Ensure regular property inspections are undertaken and accurately recorded within internal systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Prepare and deliver accurate client reporting, providing clear updates on portfolio performance and key asset activity.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation, industry standards and best practice.
- Undertake occasional site visits to inspect assets, meet contractors and support operational requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of processes, people and service delivery within the wider Property and Asset Management team.
You will have:
- At least five years' experience within property management, residential lettings or a related field.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing a team, with the ability to motivate others and drive high performance.
- Strong knowledge of residential property management and landlord compliance requirements.
- Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MARLA or equivalent (desirable).
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence managing stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- A professional and empathetic approach when handling challenging or sensitive situations.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and property management systems.
- Sound commercial awareness and a client‑focused mindset.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
