Job summary

Carrington West in Manchester is seeking an Associate Director to lead and develop its Transmission & Distribution design capability for major UK power infrastructure projects. The role focuses on technical delivery, leadership, and client/stakeholder engagement across substations, transmission, and distribution networks.

You will oversee engineering design packages, drive project performance, and mentor teams. A Chartered Engineer or progress toward Chartership is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong background within Transmission & Distribution design.
• Ideally 5 years' post graduate engineering experience, although this is flexible for the right candidate.
• Experience working within a grid-based, regulated or utility environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of engineering and design packages for Transmission & Distribution projects.
• Provide technical and operational leadership across a portfolio of T&D projects.
• Manage and mentor engineering teams and work with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
