Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an Associate Director for Transmission & Distribution Design in the East Midlands. The role offers senior leadership across a portfolio of UK power infrastructure projects, guiding technical delivery and team development.

You will oversee design packages, governance, and client engagement, while mentoring engineers and supporting resource planning. The position is hybrid, with three days in the office weekly.

Qualifications

• Strong background within Transmission & Distribution design.
• Ideally 5 years' post graduate engineering experience, though flexible for the right candidate.
• Experience working within a grid-based, regulated or utility environment.
• Previous experience leading or managing engineering/design teams.
• Strong understanding of power infrastructure projects including substations, transmission or distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational leadership across a portfolio of Transmission & Distribution projects.
• Oversee the delivery of engineering and design packages; support project performance.
• Mentor engineering teams and work with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support resource planning, technical governance and design quality; grow the T&D business.
