Job summary

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Maidenhead is seeking an Assistant Team Manager – Occupational Therapy to lead the Front Door duty and provide advanced OT practice within Adult Social Care Operations. You will oversee referrals, allocations and professional leadership for OT and social work staff, ensuring timely, person-centred responses for residents.

The role requires HCPC registration, an OT degree, and strong leadership with experience across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care.
• Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act.
• Excellent communication, leadership and partnership-working skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and oversee complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Front Door OT duty, triage and allocation function, ensuring referrals are prioritised and managed effectively.
• Providing professional leadership, supervision, mentoring and practice oversight to OT staff.
• Managing a small complex caseload and supporting assessments, safeguarding, MCA work and risk management.
• Collaborating with health colleagues, partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
• Driving service improvement, promoting strengths-based practice and assistive technology.
